HOW TO RECOGNIZE AN INDIGO
Recognizing an Indigo can be simple for some or more difficult for others based on your ability of perception. There are those who believe that you can recognize an Indigo by their auric colour, but it isn't so. Auric colours are not the same as the soul colour. You could have the Indigo soul colour but have the green aura of a healer. Oh boy, will I ever get the email over this, but I ask that you keep reading and do so with an open mind. (((This was sent to me so I add it here: I just read your section on "Recognizing an Indigo" ... I do agree with you on the concept of soul color and aura color, and I agree with the concept that Indigo auras may vary ... I believe it is the essance that defines the Indigo ... the soul ... the spirit ... and I also believe you can see it in their eyes. As you suggested ... some Indigos are gifted with healing as an example ... they may have magenta or pink in their aura in addition to Indigo. Indigos working closely with Earth energy may have green as well as blue in their aura. Indigos working with the Angelic realms or Archangel Michael may have deeper blue or purple in their aura. And so there may be color overlays ... which would be a function of our gifts, our tasks, and the energies and we are working with. Again, I believe that it is the essence of who we are that defines the Indigo ... it is a "knowing". And
so I'm sending this email in agreement with and support of what you wrote
- thanks for being so forward on this subject! Far too often people believe that their way of thinking is the only way, and when that happens, they just as well stop thinking! Life cannot be encapsulated into one particular way of thinking, unless of course it comes from God, or the Higher source, or whatever your term is. But we as humans have thousands of ways of thinking about any one given idea or perception, or whatever. With that said, let's move on. As always, use your powers of discernment and take from this what feels right for you. — Eye Contact: I have found that one of the most obvious identifiers of an Indigo child/adult is that they will look straight at you when in conversation. I mean, they will make eye contact! They love eye contact. The eyes are the windows to the soul and they know it, and will be able to know more about you in one minute of eye contact than if you talked about yourself for a solid day. This makes many people uncomfortable, but it's the Indigo Way. It will amaze you at how few people will make eye contact, so this is a powerful trait of an Indigo. — Strong willed: This is especially hard for a woman but if she is an Indigo she will often make quasi enemies too easily, but it isn't her fault. It's just that an Indigo is purpose driven and modern civilization simply isn't able to cope with women like that. — Loyal: Indigos are very, very loyal to their friends and have a hard time coping when their loyalty is not returned in kind. Because of this they will move on quite easily, but they will lick their wounds until they can fully understand why things happened. Sometimes they will dwell on this far too long. One of the lessons they need to learn is how to let go more easily, because the name of the game is to move on, their presence is required elsewhere. — Intensely passionate: Indigos have strong feelings about most everything, to include sex, if love is involved. If not, then forget the sex, but their passion will be displayed in other pursuits. This passion is also observed in what they have to say about whatever, and more than likely they will be able to converse on almost any subject matter. — Right brained: We are attracted to music, art, literature, writing and especially spirituality. But, because we have such a profound understanding of the higher laws of the universe, and ability to learn anything, if we see computers as a creative device, we will master what most people believe to be left brained tasks. It's all about how we view an endeavor. If it's a labour of love then it doesn't matter what we do or how complex and left-brained it is. Our power lies in the creative aspect of self. — Anger driven: Until an Indigo is truly able to come to terms with who they are and realize why their life was so tough in getting to this point, yes, anger will be our prime motivator. Anger at dishonesty, anger at the hurtful people in this world, anger at their past, anger at authority figures, you name it. But when we come to terms with who we are, our purpose, we will be wasting a lot of energy on anger. Other people will see our inner anger long before we are willing to even admit that it's there. — Money: An Indigo, because we are not 'middle of the road people' will either be able to amass a good deal of money and have a financially stable life, or will be the proverbial starving artist types, i.e. those who are barely able to get by. Again, once we come to terms with who we are, we will then be able to admit that it takes money to help others, or to do our purpose. From that point we will be able to settle into making the money necessary for our higher pursuits. Unfortunately, too many spiritual practices teach that to be spiritual is to be poor. What a shame. The real teaching is that you cannot serve two masters, one being money, and one being spirit. With that said, doesn't it make sense that if you make money 'serve your purposes to continue on your spiritual path' then you are not serving the money master. Think about this a little more! — Teachers: Indigos will be teachers in one way or another, but not always in the normal sense. If anyone can talk to someone and help them, that is a teacher. If they go into healing, they will teach it more than just do it. The key is that everything they do, they will see it as a teaching endeavor. — Highly Intelligent: This, no doubt, will open a can of worms. Indigos are truly very intelligent, but from childhood this can be a direct affront to a parent who can't deal with an intelligent child, therefore, they are prevented from exploring their true gifts. As an Indigo adult, others might wonder what in the world is wrong with that person (Indigo) and they will say things like, "You are so smart, why are you wasting your time on . . . " and the such. Indigos will either be using their intelligence or will be playing the game of dumb, again there is no middle of the road. But outsiders will see the Indigo's intelligence no matter what the Indigo is doing, and oftentimes before the Indigo is able to admit it to self. — Painfully Honest: Non-Indigos will often see the Indigo honesty as unnecessary or brutal. If an Indigo cannot be honest they will opt for keeping quiet, because to walk that middle of the road of partial honesty is too disruptive for them to do to themselves. The key for a non-Indigo is simple: do not ask an Indigo anything unless you are ready to deal with flat out honesty. Dishonesty is a game to an Indigo, and Indigo's are not game players. — Non game players: Indigos are not game players and resent when people play games with them. But they can and will play a game if it brings a rude person down. But an awakened Indigo will never, ever play a game with anyone again. The working word here is awakened. — System Busters: This covers a myriad of areas. They abhor traditional education so will find alternative ways i.e. home schooling for their children. They love learning and teaching but not in the traditional way. For example, on a picnic they will more than likely be the one with the kids and teaching them crazy, fun and enjoyable things about their surroundings et al. As for the Medical System, they will again let their presence be known by opting for non-traditional healing/medicine. In the government they will tackle situations with non-standard approaches. The list can go on and on and on. Just know that if there is a system of any sort, the Indigo will be the one who contemplates changing it or outright changes it. — Depression: I list this here because if an Indigo is not awakened or is unhappy because they don't feel they are doing what they came here to do, it will most often manifest itself in depression. This depression quite often then leads to drug use, alcohol, eating disorders, and/or dysfunctional behaviours of some kind. This can also happen because as a child they were told they weren't good enough or worthless, and they believed it. Once they begin the awakening process they old feelings will eventually leave them and be placed by the truth of who they are. — Work: Indigos generally like working alone or as a sole proprietor and such. But if they are in a general work place you'll be able to recognize them because they will either stay to themselves or are very gregarious. (No middle of the road) A woman will more than likely rub her counterparts the wrong way also, which goes back to strong willed. If she is known as an Indigo and understood as such, you are likely to have one of the best employees or fellow workers you've ever had. Acknowledgement is the key. And they need to be respected even when they don't work like everyone else, but they certainly get the job done with about 150% effort. If they work alone, own their own business and such, you might wonder how they get anything done, because again, they do not work like everyone else, but rest assured, they are way ahead of the game! This is a general list of sorts, but if you read more of this site you will gain a deeper understanding of why they are the way they are. If you are an Indigo and read this site, it can only benefit you, too. More on this in another Level.
