TRANSITION

I have been dragging my feet on writing about the first transition or awakening of the Indigo. I didn't know why until this morning. I always wake at 3 in the morning, or more specific, 3:02 or 3:11.

Have you ever woke with a song or jingle going through your mind? I did this morning. It was an old song called "Getting to Know You." The more the song continued the more it tickled me. What in the world made me think of it? I wondered. I tried to think of anything but hearing that crazy tune. The morning is the time that is exclusively mine. I do my inner work, my prayer work (if that's what you want to call it), and in general it's the only quiet time in my life, so I treasure it. But this morning it was interrupted by that song and after an hour's struggle to ignore it, I finally got out of bed.

For the last hour I've been singing that darn song and now here I sit, starting on this dissertation and I just realized that the song is all about the awakening or transition process. As I've pointed out many times on this site, we, humanity are all the same, but the Indigos are more purpose driven than the norm. The real differences don't start coming out until we begin the awakening.

Back to the song, "Getting to Know You.". It's from the movie "The King and I." Anyway, just for grins and giggles I am putting the words to the song here. This is really interesting for me, too, because I never saw the movie. Gee, it was a Rogers and Hammerstein tune, too.

"Getting to Know You"

[Spoken] It's a very ancient saying, But a true and honest thought, That if you become a teacher, By your pupils you'll be taught.

[Singing] As a teacher I've been learning; You'll forgive me if I boast. And I've now become an expert, On the subject I like most.

[Spoken] Getting to know you.

[Singing] Getting to know you, Getting to know all about you. Getting to like you, Getting to hope you like me.

Getting to know you, Putting it my way, But nicely, You are precisely, My cup of tea.

Getting to know you, Getting to feel free and easy. When I am with you, Getting to know what to say. Haven't you noticed, Suddenly I'm bright and breezy? Because of all the beautiful and new, Things I'm learning about you, Day by day. (end)

What's this got to do with the awakening or transition? A lot! One of the biggest problems that face a seeker like an Indigo is that you usually look ‘outside of you' for the answers and guidance to all your questions. Why is that a problem? Because the answers are within! And why don't we look within? Because from the moment we are born, our parents, care-givers or whomever raises us, instantly begins brainwashing us to live in their world. They love and nurture us the only way they know how. (Too bad we don't come here with an owner's manual, like the ones that come with new cars.) But, like I said, they begin teaching us their way; the way of the world! Not the Indigo way.

That song showed me what I needed to talk about in this lesson. Let's say that we, a person, is point A, and we need to get to point B. The problem is that we need a bridge between the two. Instead, all we see is that darned point B and the life-long struggle to get there. We constantly look outside of ‘self' for the answer on how to get there, when we should be looking inside of ‘self' for the answers. But because of the conditioning we grow up with, we have grown disconnected from ‘self.'

Imagine singing that song to yourself. How many of you can honestly admit that you know yourself? How many of you can honestly say that you really and truly know all the beautiful and new aspects of yourself? How many of you can honestly admit that your life is good or even great because you really love yourself? How many of you can honestly admit that you are learning more and more about yourself day by day?

This self-awarenss and self-love is Point A. If you don't have it, you will continue fooling yourself by thinking you are really part of the solution and not part of the problem, and the real problem on Earth is that there isn't enough love to offset all the negativity. That's where we, the Indigos are supposed to help the most. But how can we if we don't even know ourselves?

A while back, a dear friend of mine was desperately trying to connect with her guides/angels. In frustration she asked me how to do it. I didn't quite know how to answer and instead blurted, "Quit trying to bring them down to your level. Learn their language and join them in the higher realms." After all, that's what we are supposed to be doing isn't it! I mean isn't that what awakening or transition is all about . . . moving into the higher awareness?

I mentioned that I visited an Indigo Adult forum on the web recently, and I was blown away by how much pain and hurt so many of them are experiencing. Since I am not known for having any tact at all, I will just say it like it is. They still feel pain, hurt, fear, sorrow, etc, because they haven't yet learned the basics of life, which is to love thyself. They are driven to help, but how can they help others if they cannot help themselves? How can they talk of love when they don't love themselves? It's like many other things, if you don't do it, no one will do it for you.

I'm sure everyone has read something about the DNA changes that are supposed to take place too, but how will they know if it's happening in them if they do not know ‘self'? I recently asked my Mom and a couple friends this question, "When you think, where in your head does that thought come from?" After they finally stopped laughing and realized I was serious, they couldn't answer. They had never ‘thought' about it before. "Why not?" I asked. For the most part they said it wasn't important. But guess what folks, it is important. It's important that you know every little thing about yourself, otherwise, how can you say you know ‘self'?

What's the difference between the mind and the brain? Where's the soul at in this jumbled up package we call a human body? Does the heart communicate with the brain or does the brain communicate with the heart? How in the world will you know if your DNA undergoes any change at all if you don't even understand what the DNA is and what it does? I don't mean you have to know this super-scientifically, but you need to know something of it. Every little moment of your emotional history is coded within you, so how can you become greater than ‘it' if you don't know where 'it' is at? How can you change something that you don't understand?

Did you ever stop to think about what an ECG/EKG (electrocardiogram) and an EEG (electroencephalogram) does? They measure electricity in our heart and brain. What? Electricity in our body??? What the heck, we are after all, electro-magnetic beings living in an electro-magnetic world. By the way, the EKG or ECG is a test that measures the electrical activity of the heartbeat. With each beat, an electrical impulse (or "wave") travels through the heart. This wave causes the muscle to squeeze and pump blood from the heart. An EEG measures the electrical activity of brain cells. The structure and chemical composition of neurons leads to the generation of an electrical potential, which is a relative difference in electrical charge across the nerve cell membrane. Okay, enough of that right now. But I hope you see how simple it is to gain a simple understanding of anything.

Where am I going with this? It's simple, how can you ever hope to know and understand the higher teachings of the universe if you don't know and understand your ‘self'? How do you know what love is if you don't know where it comes from and where you feel it in your own body? What is the compassion frequency of love? I am not going to continue questioning you because this is something that you have to do for yourself. You have to "Get to Know You," before you do anything else, and that "Getting to Know You," will be the beginning, middle and end of this first awakening process. It doesn't have to take a lifetime either, but it will take some time, and right now you have plenty of it.

I am sad to report that I know and have known quite a few people who say they are awakened to the higher world, the higher truths, but I cannot express enough that they are doing a horrible injustice to themselves. Their life, their loves, their everything proves otherwise because they still do not know 'self.' And leaping to grasp onto a label will prevent them from ever awakening.

I will say this just one more time, the awakening or first transition is when you really get to know yourself so that you can begin to know about things around you. It can also be extremely hard to go through as well, because it means that you begin transitioning out of the old behaviour patterns that have held you back so far.

First and foremost, you MUST let go of the past and all the garbage that has not been for your higher good. You MUST. There is no way around it and you cannot fool yourself into thinking that if you ignore it, that it no longer exists. Everything about you has been coded into your being, your heart, your mind, your soul and only you have the key to access those storage sites and recode them.

I am compiling a list of web sites on my links page that I feel are very informative and helpful, because if another site can explain something better than I can, then why reinvent the wheel? And I really love web sites and people who provide their information and guidance for free. I abhor those sites and people who purport to be helpers but you have to purchase their works. Enlightenment has been made available to us without cost. After all, it was given to them for free . . . unless there was a hidden cost to their soul. Ugh, not a good thought is it. I wonder who they are really channeling?
