Revised Indigo Traits

What is an Indigo? As has been said many times on this site, Indigo does not relate to auras. Of course a person can have indigo in their auric field and chakras. Yes indeed. But pay close attention because an Indigo is a being from another world, another dimension, can be another planet, can be another universe, and that being's essence is identified by a specific colour, which in this case is Indigo, or purple. Their essence is the gist of who they are. It is their true soul/spirit, their true nature. It is a deeply spiritual colour as well.

It is not an aura colour. You cannot identify an Indigo by looking at their aura's. I really hesitate saying it this way, but the truth has to be told. There will be millions of people who relate to the traits on the first list in Level One. But by now, after reading more articles, searching on the web for more information, and such, many people will in time grow bored with the "Indigo thing" and move on. But a real Indigo will not. They will be more determined to find the answers, to find the way that they can unlock from this earthly shell in order to do what they came here to do. It will almost be like an obsession.

And, an Indigo beings has chosen to come to earth to help in whatever way he/she is supposed to help. The ways to help are endless; technology, healing, architecture, music, science, teaching, you name it. And Indigo is purpose driven because that purpose is encoded into their cellular memory, the fact that they must do something. It is also important to understand that your purpose can even be a parent. Having a child and raising it in accordance with the higher laws of the universe, i.e., with love, decency, honour, integrity et al, is probably the most important purpose there is.

Do not get hung up on what you think is an important purpose. Do not measure your purpose by another person's standards. Finding your true purpose will come to you when you finally give up trying to label it and let it simply come to you when you are ready to do something about it. Until then, you must apply the above principles of love, decency, honour and integrity to your own life. You must start living in accordance of who and what you really know yourself to be. Accomplishment will soon follow.

If an Indigo is so evolved, why do they have such anger and frustration issues here on Earth? Because Earth's electromagnetic spectrum interferes with their powers, abilities and memories, and, they are so purpose driven that it can make them deaf, dumb and blind (figuratively). So they stumble around just trying to blend into a world where they don't belong in the first place, but they can't quite remember why they are here in the first place. This can cause a myriad of emotional upheavals.

To add to their anger/frustration issues, they come from worlds, planets, universes and super universes that are ruled by unconditional love. And they long for their true home, even though they know they are supposed to be doing something here. That creates inner conflict and more frustration. But that unconditional love, that is so deeply embedded into their essence, keeps driving them to have it again, and to share it, as it is done on their home world.

But, incarnating on Earth, into the lower, denser electromagnetic spectrum, causes a sort of mental eraser effect, but not enough to forget the divine, unconditional love that rules their very soul. A friend, David, puts it this way, "And for so many of us when we incarnate here it is an abrupt departure from what we find comfortable ... it is like seeing a movie re-played ... and we get to watch it again - the movie is titled "Evolution." And then we realize we're in this movie. Is it no wonder we feel so out of place and stand out ... then again, isn't that why we volunteered to help out ... or maybe some of us get volunteered? We know where world consciousness should be ... we have an innate sense of justice and what honors the soul ... and then we see where (earthly) consciousness is and often it's frustrating." (Thank you David)

So here's what happens: An Indigo volunteers to go to Earth to help, then experiences an electromagnetic erasure program, then stumbles along in earthly life knowing they come from somewhere else, knowing there is love somewhere else (because love is after all the greatest power there is), knowing they are supposed to be doing something, and all the while people are pointing at the Indigo and saying "they've got problems," when the Indigo really came here to help them!!!

Indigos come from realms where repetition in life lessons do not exist, after all, that is why they have ascended through the colour/energy scale to become Indigo's or purples. Again it is a master colour, a very spiritual colour. They have a wisdom and understanding that surpasses most people's ability to grasp. That's why they are here to help, because they have learned what to do, and most importantly what not to do with evolutionary life on good old planet Earth.

The repetition that most offends an Indigo is that which is called "Earthly Evolution." Humanity has not come very far in the millions or billions or whatever illons of years it's been here on Earth. In fact, it almost appears that Humanity regressed. War's are getting nastier and more destructive, killings more rampant, abuse most prevalent and as the population grows, so does the newer ways of hurting others. Yet, people sit back and complain about the lack of love and kindness and compassion but do nothing to make changes. Granted, there are a few who do, but goodness, it isn't working is it! Take a look at the statistics if you don't believe this. Yes, technology has skyrocketed, but it has done nothing to help humanity evolve to a higher spiritual level, has it.

Again, my friend David puts it this way: "We've all been there. And you know how we as Indigos detest repetition ... maybe that's why we detest repetition ... because we're seeing the same lessons repeated, with the same resistance and fixation of holding on to old consciousness. And we Indigos don't like to repeat lessons. Our consciousness is different, and to us this often seems senseless." (Again, thanks David).

As for impatience, yes, Indigos are impatient, at least until they ‘remember' who they are and why they are here. Even then some have to unlearn impatience. But, Indigos want things to happen now, because they are so blindly purpose driven. Again, David offers, and just for the record, David is a very real person so this is not channeled information, he says: "And so for me this comes down to patience and understanding ... and that is part of honoring this world and its journey. And I think that's the key for so many of us. I think we came in this time to help this world transition to that place of love, higher consciousness. If we think of it as a repeating movie and allow our frustrations to hold us back, how can we truly use our gifts for the highest good of all and make the difference we're here to make?"

David goes on to say: "As for the idea of Indigos having incarnated or some having never incarnated here ... I believe that holds true and would further substantiate the traits we come in with. Because we know within the depths of our souls what is right, what is just, and we carry that with us no matter where we go ... this world or others. It's a Universal code that you and I have always lived by, LadyWingMaker. It's what sets Indigos aside from so many others ... not as greater or lesser ... but in that we live by a code ... it shines brilliantly within us and radiates outwardly as what some would refer to as the frequency of change. And as for Indigos that have never incarnated ... well we're all soul family and our knowing is shared collectively ... our truth is shared ... our unconditional love is shared. And so we would have similar traits no matter what our experiences ..."

One more para from David and I will get back on track: "What people in this world may perceive as extraordinary gifts, I think, are a way of being for us. They are completely natural, and part of who we are. We wouldn't be here if our help wasn't so greatly needed. Again, this comes down to patience ... and knowing that we will make a difference regardless of how it appears. We are already making a difference because we carry the frequency of change wherever we are ... like seeds of change ... each in its own season."

That last blurb is powerful, thank you David. And the reason I quoted David is because he has a gentleness to his expression, unlike me. I try to be, but my nature is that of a warrior and my energy can be too hard hitting at times. When I try to be what others want or expect me to be...let's just say it doesn't work.

Another profound Indigo trait is A Life Lived With Truth: This is a hard one to discuss without upsetting people, but I have no choice, I must proceed. There is a huge difference being being truthful and being hurtful. You can still be truthful and take into consideration other people's feelings. Being truthful does not allow you to be vengeful, hurtful and harmful. A Life Lived With Truth means that you apply your truth to your life, and your life only. If it filters over to others and it does not hurt them, that's good, but you never have the right to say or do something that will cause hurt to others. And what has caused us all a great deal of conflict when growing up is that internal truth meter, when loved ones compromised it and forced us to go along with their lies or less than honourable ideals.

When talking about the Higher Laws of the Universe it is almost the same to an Indigo as the Hippocratic Oath is to a Doctor. Basically, it means to do no harm to others. And Indigo will live in accordance with truth, honour, decency, integrity and most of all with love, and allow that truth to light their way. What good is it to say you have love for humanity and that you care what happens, then you turn around and make a horrible remark about your neighbor, or your in-laws, your family, a religion, a society, you name it? In the long run, it will be more destructive to you than to anyone else. And if you can live your life in accordance with the Higher Laws of the Universe, then you have become part of the solution instead of being part of the problem.

Take a good hard look at yourself, your neighborhood, your community, your country, the world. Can you see how truth has become obscured by self-righteousness, ego, greed, and more of the lower-emotion driven needs? Do you remember how President Clinton misused the faith, trust and confidence of the American people by abusing his oath of office, and conducted himself in less than honourable standards? And then, on national television he lied about what he had done. It took months, even years for the truth to come out, BUT, the damage had been done, not only to himself, but to all the people who turned a blind eye to his sexual escapades. Those people allowed their integrity to be compromised by accepting and/or justifying his actions. How would you feel if your loved one/husband/wife announced nationally that he/she had sex behind your back and the world applauded? I am not going any further with this example other to say that I was ashamed that an appointed leader represented me with his perverted sexual habits, and that millions of people allowed, accepted and encouraged that behaviour because they could not be truthful with themselves and about how they really felt about it. And if you feel it was right behaviour, then don't even consider calling yourself a higher guided person seeking the answers to a spiritual life.

Please, do not take offense at the above para. It was not said to rile your attitudes about Democrats, Republicans, Islam, you name it. It is not a political statement nor observation. I have cited the above misconduct as an example of how our morals are jeopardized by others...especially when we turn a blind eye to the problems. I know for a fact that other presidents and world leaders live in and with corruption, and even perpetuate it according to their own corrupt moral values. I could attack the media for inundating humanity with their own greed and lust for corruption, for spreading corruption, et al, but well....I think I have said enough already.

It is up to each and every soul to live a life of truth...or not.

This trait will never fade for an Indigo: No Middle of the Road: This behaviour still applies but now the awakened Indigo realizes that they only have the right to apply that concept to their lives and stop trying to force others to live by their standards. The Indigo truth is that there is only good or bad, light or dark, etc, but the gray area, the middle of the road is a destructive path for anyone to be forced to live in. And it takes all the strength they can muster to not get caught into that null, gray zone. So, this trait becomes stronger and stronger as the Indigo awakens but the real challenge is how to live with it and not force others to. It is all related to that unconditional love I talked about at the top of this page.

As for their better qualities like deep empathy, inborn lie detectors, psychic/intuitiveness, spirituality, sense of humour, work oriented, even rule breaking, etc. these qualities become stronger and stronger and more pronounced, especially in a more enlightened way. Their drive at work becomes as pronounced in their drive to know more about life and themselves. Their rule breaking will be seen by their abilities to heal, teach, or do many other things to help rather than hinder. Their spirituality will also grow stronger as they gain the deeper understanding about themselves as much as about life and spirit as well as Source.

And now you might wonder where the rest of the revised Indigo traits are. They aren't, because they only exist in the past, and I've already written about that in a previous level. If you don't quite understand this, then go back to the first list of Indigo traits, then read the article about the "Past". If you still don't get it, then give yourself a little more time because if you are not ready, able and willing to get over the past trauma and hurts of your life, then you certainly are not ready to move forward. It would be like trying to drive a car without an engine. You will never find your engine until you get out of the past to look for it.

You need to find your Indigo engine in order to move forward. You need to find out who you are and why you are here, in order to help. That Indigo engine is your true Indigo memory and without it, you are truly stuck right where you are. Don't forget, coming here was a choice. You chose it and you are honour bound to accomplish it. And you will never understand or emit unconditional love as long as you are stuck in a negative past.
